法背景说明
个人BS法又叫个人头脑风暴法、个人智力激励法。BS是英文Brain Storming的缩写。这是一种将头脑风暴法应用于个人领域，提高个人创造性的方法。
头脑风暴法是由美国创造学家AF奥斯本于1939年首次提出，1953年正式发表的一种激发创造性思维的方法。通过学习并掌握这种方法，可以大大激发人的灵感，发明许多具有创造性的事物。
□ 方法大意
个人BS法是将奥斯本头脑风暴法用于个人领域，以提高个人创造性能力的方法。它实质上是列举法、二元坐标连时法和焦点法的综合运用。
□ 具体操作
1． 列举法。
即将自己认为有必要的东西，经充分想象后，全部列举出来。这是个人BS法的第一步骤。
比如说，把家庭中一般最常见的物品列成一个单子，越多越好。
例如：①桌子②椅子③电视机④电扇⑤冰箱⑥压力锅⑦影碟机⑧日历表……
2． 二元坐标连对法。
那将用列举出来的事物分别标在横坐标和纵标上，然后将其一一配对，看结合起来会产生什么新构想。
打△的表示一般无法产生新构想的结合，打○的表示可产生新构想的组合。如以椅子为例，依次可产生如下构想：①②形成带椅子的桌子；②③形成装在椅子上的电视机；②④形成带电扇的椅子……
然而，首先上述构想并不是唯一的构想，如②③还可构想成可当作椅子的电视机，椅子形状的电视机等等，思路越广越好，构想多多益善。
其次，通过二元坐标连对法得出的新构想不一定都能产生实际的效果，但这些构想对激发灵感有巨大的作用。另外判断一个新构想要从可行性、经济性、时间性等多个角度综合考察，既不能轻易否定，又不能轻易采纳。
再次，个人BS法进行到二元坐标连对法时，会产生一个明显的特点，就是如果要对特定的东西加以研究，很难得出一个固定的研究主题。个人BS法的下一步焦点法解决了这一问题，使个人BS法更具有实用性，更趋完善。
3． 焦点法。
前面说过，列举法在构思创造新事物的时候，因所考虑的项目太过复杂，没有一个固定的研究主题，而且，所依据的只是物与物的组合而已，因此在思考上，很难发挥出应有的联想。
如果要创造一个跟原物风貌完全不同的事物，使个人BS法具有真正的实用性，有必要使用现在所介绍的"焦点法"。
焦点法和列举法不同之处在于思考开始前，就必须决定要创作的目标，即焦点，然后根据这个目标来进行思考。也就是说，要把思考的焦点定位在一个已经决定好的目标上。比如，我们把目标定位为：新款式的椅子。也即椅子作为思考的基础。接着随便拿出一个会变的东西，在此，我们姑且以"肥皂泡"来试试。
把椅子和肥皂泡结合在一起，然后开始构想椅子的新款式，而这就是焦点。
我们把思考过程分成两个阶段。
第一阶段：椅子和肥皂泡组合。
椅子和肥皂泡组合，将肥皂泡具有的特性融入椅子的设计中，可产生以下构想：轻而薄的椅子，球形的椅子，可飘浮的椅子，在阳光照耀下的可呈现各种颜色的椅子，充气的椅子，有许多球形组成的椅子……
第二阶段：椅子和肥皂沫的变体联想相结合。
将肥皂泡经过联想法联想后，再与椅子的设计组合。
如肥皂泡-球形-桔子-球形水果-水果-果实-开花-花朵-花香-香味-香水-女人-女明星-明星-电影-
……
思路越广越好。然后将它们与椅子组成看能否构成新设想。
如思路发展到果实-花朵时，就可以以花为模型设计椅子，可把椅子设计成鲜花式样，或带鲜花的椅子，或把椅子腿设计成鲜花状等等。
又如思路发展到香味-香水时，可设计带味的椅子，买一把椅子送一瓶香水等。
再如思路发展到女人-女明星时，可设计专门适合女性的椅子，有明星肖像或签名椅子……
焦点法的主要部分在于第二阶段。
第一阶段的思考方式相当于一坐标仅有一个元素的二元坐标连对法。只有在第二阶段时，想象力才既自由发挥又具有针对性，使人类丰富而强大的联想力与设计或创造的终极目标相结合。
□ 实施要点
1． 不必担心自己的想象能不能实现，这是以后的事。在联想时，任何想象都是受欢迎的，即使自己认为是荒谬可笑的想象也请记录下来，它可能使你成为一名伟大的发明家。
2． 想象重量不重质，越多越好。
3． 使用二元坐标连对法时，要横纵两轴均作为侧重点。如④⑧组合，可有两种类型，一种是带电风扇（功能）的日历表，另一种是带日历表（功能）的电风扇。这是从两个不同侧重点考虑的结果。
4． 焦点法第二阶段的好处是可以为联想提供一条思考的线索。
为了产生好的构想，就有必要让想象力更充分更自由地发挥。但是过程想自由发挥，往往不见得可联想到很多东西。所以在用焦点法时，可以先提供可供为联想的线索，如形状、颜色、气味等等，然后再强制意识根据这些线索去联想。
5． 个人BS法强调的是三种方法合理恰当的综合运用，读者应在实践中学会如何综合使用它们。
