哈利波特系列电影中有很多剧情上的更改，举个例子。在哈利波特大结局的时候后，电影中给德拉科洗白了，让他向哈利投了一个魔杖，虽然这段被删减了，不过还是有未删减版的。但原著里是没有这个情节的。还有就是最后老魔杖的处理方式，电影里太草率了，直接就把老魔杖撅了，撇山崖下去了。原著里是哈利波特，把老魔杖带到了邓布利多的墓前。

总之，不管电影和原著有多少区别，他们从大体上来说是差不多的。
