創作背景

一個叫邁爾斯·斯科特的小朋友在1歲半時被診斷出患有白血病。當被詢問他有什麼願望時，小邁爾斯回答想親自扮演一回蝙蝠俠。公益組織Make A Wish為他籌款拍了一部電影《小蝙蝠俠出擊》，整個舊金山化身哥譚市，「小蝙蝠俠」邁爾斯在另一個蝙蝠俠的陪伴下，打敗壞人。

整個電影溫馨動人，包括總統奧巴馬在內的許多名人都對小邁爾斯送去支持。而酷玩樂隊根據這個感人的事件為小邁爾斯寫下《Something Just Like This》。

小男孩的故事發生在2013年，而紀錄片《小蝙蝠俠出擊》於2015年上映，整首歌曲受到了小男孩故事的影響，也將這種精神以音樂的形式傳給了世界。
