美国第70届电影艺术与科学学院奖(奥斯卡金像奖)于1998年3月23日晚颁发。故事影片《泰坦尼克号》共获11项奥斯卡金像奖：最佳影片奖、最佳导演奖、最佳编辑奖、最佳插曲奖、最佳音乐奖、最佳艺术指导奖、最佳摄影奖、最佳视觉效果奖、最佳音响奖、最佳音响编辑奖和最佳服装奖。该片拍摄历时五年，耗资二亿五千万美元。《泰坦尼克》1997年底公映以来，获得巨大的成功，曾获得金球奖的四个奖项
