《Memory》的前世今生

当初，在《猫》首演前夕，导演对整部剧的音乐仍感到不甚满意，认为还缺乏情感高潮，缺少一个核心唱段。当晚，韦伯回家苦思了一夜，终于写出了这首此后成为世界上最流行的歌曲之一的《回忆》。

第二天一早导演回忆说，他（指韦伯）说：“看看这个怎么样？”当时，我们正在排演室开会，就在那儿将乐曲演奏了一遍。然后，我对大家说：“记住这个日子，这个时刻，因为你们刚刚听到了一首绝妙非凡的歌曲。”
