创作背景

一个叫迈尔斯·斯科特的小朋友在1岁半时被诊断出患有白血病。当被询问他有什么愿望时，小迈尔斯回答想亲自扮演一回蝙蝠侠。公益组织Make A Wish为他筹款拍了一部电影《小蝙蝠侠出击》，整个旧金山化身哥谭市，“小蝙蝠侠”迈尔斯在另一个蝙蝠侠的陪伴下，打败坏人。

整个电影温馨动人，包括总统奥巴马在内的许多名人都对小迈尔斯送去支持。而酷玩乐队根据这个感人的事件为小迈尔斯写下《Something Just Like This》。

小男孩的故事发生在2013年，而纪录片《小蝙蝠侠出击》于2015年上映，整首歌曲受到了小男孩故事的影响，也将这种精神以音乐的形式传给了世界。
