青春期其实是孩子跟父母关系发展中非常关键和危险的一个阶段。有很多家庭在这一时期增进了解，相处融洽，也有很多家庭鸡飞狗跳，不得安宁。更重要的，孩子青春期所接受到的东西，可能会影响到这个家庭，以至于将来他/她自己家庭的安宁和谐。父母和孩子直到生命的尽头才能捐弃前嫌，重归于好的例子并非一个两个。

《Chicken Little》便是试图探讨青春期孩子与父母（在这个片子里面，仅是父亲——因此也可看作是单亲家庭）沟通交流的问题。故事的主人公名叫Chicken Little，直译便是鸡小小，一个很Q的名字，做字幕的人很有幽默感。有一天，他被隐形外星飞船的一块底板砸到，他觉得是天塌下来一块，于是勇敢的拉响了警钟。当然，这样疯狂的举动给镇上的居民造成了很大的麻烦，于是成了众矢之的，最糟糕的是，他的父亲并不相信他，因为邻居们给他的巨大压力。青春期是疯狂的，但是鸡小小的父亲并不了解这一点，他最在乎的是别人对他儿子的看法。如果别人认同鸡小小，他会觉得由衷的骄傲，但是如果别人不认同鸡小小，他会告诉鸡小小再也别这么干。这是父母对子女的期许，同时也是对人性（？）的抹杀。
