《丽莎和她的朋友们》是尼克儿童频道最成功的原创动画片之一，它于1998年在美国首播，受到了2-12岁儿童的喜爱。为了满足孩子们对丽莎探险故事的无尽兴趣，2002年，尼克儿童频道和它的兄弟公司派拉蒙电影公司一起拍摄了电影版的动画片《丽莎和她的朋友们》，在美国本土获得了四千万美元的票房收入。2003年12月28日，尼克国际儿童频道与中国中央电视台正式达成合作协议，将就正式开播的中央电视台青少频道展开全方位、大规模的合作，央视青少频道将专门开辟每天半小时的时间播出尼克国际儿童频道旗下的长篇动画连续剧《猫狗：Cat Dog》和《丽莎和她的朋友们: Wild Thornberrys》；且双方在2004年6月1日共同举办了“孩子的选择- Kids Choice Award”大型电视晚会。
故事原型：丽莎原名蒂皮·得格雷，（现实生活中的人物）法国的，她从小随拍摄野生动物的父母在丛林中生活，她与鸵鸟共舞，与狮子同眠，后有《〈我的野生动物朋友〉》问世，在世界上有很高的知名度。
人物介绍：
丽莎：聪明.勇敢.活泼.固执.热心.大方.乐于助人，是本部动画片的主人公。
黛比：丽莎的姐姐，有着金黄色的卷发，经常遮住一只眼睛，非常有个性的青春期女生，爱打扮，追求时尚，崇拜明星。
达尔文：他是一只能听懂人说话并且能和伊莎交流的大猩猩，是丽莎在这个家里最好的朋友，他们两个总是一同去冒险。
达尼：达尼是被索恩贝里一家收养的小野人，不会说话，只能在嘴里发出咕噜咕噜的声音表达自己的想法，非常的活泼可爱。
