It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portmans face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.

Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemando a fine job in terms of making their roles genuine and appealing, and also inthe way they work so well together. The proction values throughout areoutstanding, but this is not a 「fancy」 film. Rather, it sticks to the story itis telling without resorting to flashy tricks to grab the audience』s attention.Although there is violence, some of it extreme, it is necessary to show the kindof place the prison is and is certainly not gratuitous.
The main theme is hope,not despair, and the violence serves only as a backdrop to that message.Unashamedly a feelgood movie, by the end one is wishing only that it wouldcontinue for a few more moments.
「Life of Pi」 is such an exciting movie that most people enjoy watching it,especially for teenagers. It tells a story where a boy called Pi lives alone with a tiger in a boat in the middle of the ocean. The boy is both smart and brave. He learns to know how to live together with the tiger that may eat him at any moment. However, with so many difficulties, the boy and the tiger successfully reaches the land and saves their lives.
As is shown in the movie, when we are in trouble, not only should we be brave, but also smart. More importantly, we should never give up our hope when faced with hardships. Nothing is impossible if we believe in ourselves. As an old saying goes, "Where there is a will, there is a way."
