羅曼·波蘭斯基的《鋼琴家》根據波蘭籍作曲家/鋼琴家Wladyslaw Szpilman自傳體小說改編，但波蘭斯基在電影中傾注了自己最真切的感情——7歲時曾經有過逃出克拉科夫猶太區的類似經歷。
電影的音樂主題則由肖邦的鋼琴曲貫穿始終——作為一個鋼琴家，肖邦的作品是Szpilman演奏曲目的核心部分。而波蘭當代鋼琴家Janusz Olejniczak的演奏也深得肖邦的精髓，唯一一首非鋼琴曲曲目則是由與Roman Polanski經常合作的作曲家Wojciech Kilar為Szpilman一家遷入猶太區一幕所作的『Moving to the Ghetto, Oct. 31, 1940』，一種小心翼翼式的悲哀與沉痛；最值得一提的是，這張專輯中還收錄了Szpilman本人在1948年華沙錄制的肖邦的『Mazurka Op. 17, No.4』的珍貴演繹版本。（雖然效果不是很好）

Ⅷ 電影鋼琴師背景音樂與劇情的感受
背景音樂沒多大留意，就是那個德國軍官讓他彈琴的片段印象比較深刻，就是肖邦第一敘事曲，之所以選這首肖邦的曲子，大概肖邦也是波蘭人，當時同樣面臨祖國淪陷的境況，波蘭斯基想用肖邦的音樂來向觀眾們傳達出鋼琴師當時的心情：沉痛、悲傷、激憤。還好軍官聽懂了~~
