3D動畫片《老雷斯的故事》根據蘇斯博士創作的同名兒童故事書改編，由《卑鄙的我》團隊打造。克里斯·雷納德、凱爾·巴爾達聯袂執導，泰勒·斯維芙特、扎克·埃夫隆、丹尼·德維托、艾德·赫爾姆斯、羅伯·里格爾、貝蒂·懷特主演配音。

故事的主人公是生活在森林世界中的一個矮矮胖胖的小人，人們都叫他"老雷斯"，反派是一個名叫"老萬"的貪婪鬼，他肆意砍伐森林中的樹木，用於製作一種叫做"Thneeds"的大家都需要的東西，以此來賺錢。為了保護森林，老雷斯多次找到老萬替那些可憐的樹木求情，但最終卻無濟於事。
