《麗莎和她的朋友們》是尼克兒童頻道最成功的原創動畫片之一，它於1998年在美國首播，受到了2-12歲兒童的喜愛。為了滿足孩子們對麗莎探險故事的無盡興趣，2002年，尼克兒童頻道和它的兄弟公司派拉蒙電影公司一起拍攝了電影版的動畫片《麗莎和她的朋友們》，在美國本土獲得了四千萬美元的票房收入。2003年12月28日，尼克國際兒童頻道與中國中央電視台正式達成合作協議，將就正式開播的中央電視台青少頻道展開全方位、大規模的合作，央視青少頻道將專門開辟每天半小時的時間播出尼克國際兒童頻道旗下的長篇動畫連續劇《貓狗：Cat Dog》和《麗莎和她的朋友們: Wild Thornberrys》；且雙方在2004年6月1日共同舉辦了「孩子的選擇- Kids Choice Award」大型電視晚會。
故事原型：麗莎原名蒂皮·得格雷，（現實生活中的人物）法國的，她從小隨拍攝野生動物的父母在叢林中生活，她與鴕鳥共舞，與獅子同眠，後有《〈我的野生動物朋友〉》問世，在世界上有很高的知名度。
人物介紹：
麗莎：聰明.勇敢.活潑.固執.熱心.大方.樂於助人，是本部動畫片的主人公。
黛比：麗莎的姐姐，有著金黃色的卷發，經常遮住一隻眼睛，非常有個性的青春期女生，愛打扮，追求時尚，崇拜明星。
達爾文：他是一隻能聽懂人說話並且能和伊莎交流的大猩猩，是麗莎在這個家裡最好的朋友，他們兩個總是一同去冒險。
達尼：達尼是被索恩貝里一家收養的小野人，不會說話，只能在嘴裡發出咕嚕咕嚕的聲音表達自己的想法，非常的活潑可愛。
